A cross-platform FTP client to use with Mozilla Firefox.
One of the main advantages of Firefox in comparison with other Internet browsers is the
long list of plug-ins and complements that we can add to it to expand its functions.
FireFTP is one of the most surprising of these complements, because it
integrates a complete FTP client into the browser. This FTP client will allow us to
connect and share data with various FTP sites without having to leave Firefox.
Each time that we select
FireFTP in the Tools menu, a window or a tab will open (depending on how we configure it), in which we will be able to see the
interface of a normal FTP client.
As well as the speed and convenience with which we will be able to work, the fact that it integrates with the browser allows us to be able to
enjoy it on any platform.
This plug-in has
all the features of a normal FTP client, just like Cute FTP or Filezilla. It is possible that some users might finf the GUI somewhat rudimentary and that it has few configuration options, but it is ideal for occasional users and those users that like to simplify tasks to the maximum.
FireFTP comes with
support for SSL, TSL and SFTP. It can work with
proxy servers and allows to edit documents remotely.
If you use the browser to connect to the web, why don't you do the same with your FTP servers?
Note: This application is only compatible with Firefox 3.5 or above.
